*^*BLOG TOUR & REVIEW*^* Leaving Amarillo by Caisey Quinn

Nashville meets New Adult in Caisey Quinn’s Neon Dreams, a dramatic, sexy new series following a country band’s rocky road to fame. LEAVING AMARILLO kicks off the heart-stopping, planned trilogy with a bang!

HOLD ON!! STOP READING!! Can we just take a moment and enjoy this BAD ASS COVER?!! I am so  IN LOVE with this cover!!
ok. Carry on! XO

Dixie Lark hasn’t had it easy. She lost her parents in an accident when she was young and grew up in a ramshackle house on a dirt road in Amarillo with her ailing grandparents and overprotective older brother. Thanks to her grandfather, Dixie learned to play a mean fiddle, inspired by the sounds of the greats—Johnny and June, Waylon, and Hank. Her grandfather’s fiddle changed Dixie’s life forever, giving her an outlet for the turmoil of her broken heart and inspiring a daring dream.
Ten years later, Dixie and her brother Dallas are creating the music they love and chasing fame with their hot band, LEAVING AMARILLO. But Dixie isn’t enjoying the ride. All she can think about is Gavin Garrison, the band’s tattooed, tortured drummer who she’s loved since they were kids. She knows he feels the connection between them, but he refuses see her as more than his best friend’s little sister.
Convinced that one night with Gavin will get him out of her system, Dixie devises a plan. She doesn’t know that her brother has forbidden Gavin from making a move on her—a promise he swore he’d always keep—a promise that once broken will unexpectedly change the future for Dixie, Gavin and the band. Will Dixie and Gavin risk it all for a possible love neither has ever thought possible?
Complex and full of emotion, Quinn’s beautifully crafted novel perfectly interweaves a mix of engaging characters, a heartfelt love story, and an incredible tribute to musicians—their ambition, dreams, and love of music. LEAVING AMARILLO will have readers eager to turn the next page and root for Dixie and the band as success and fame are only a few steps away.

What is it about illicit love that makes you stop and take notice? I’ll be honest, if you tell me about a story that has a forbidden romance in it, I am all over it! Fortunately, Leaving Amarillo is a good time story that I finished in one sitting leaving me anxiously waiting for the next book.

A classic country song turned into real life situations, Leaving Amarillo gives you more than what’s bargained for with the lives of brother and sister, Dallas and Dixie being bandmates with Gavin who just happens to be their honorary brother but who also Dixie has always had a crush on. Little does she know that Gavin has had his eyes on her for a long time and not always in a brotherly way either. As life gives them curve ball after curve ball, Dallas makes it his mission to take care of these two and they form a band playing music their way and covering some really great artists in an eclectic way. Their unique sound has landed them on a fast track ticket to getting signed, the only thing standing in the way is the possibility that life will throw them another curveball.

Leaving Amarillo is a good read giving you characters that you get to know on many levels, lots of angst and some very sexy, sexy time. J  Caisey Quinn has also knitted very nicely a conflict that is left unresolved so I am very excited to see what book 2 brings. I expect this story of three to only get better and bigger as the series moves along. If you haven’t one clicked yet and are still here reading, what are you waiting for?

I was given an advanced readers copy in exchange for my honest experience and Leaving Amarillo is a solid 4 star for me.
