Sometimes us silly girls fantasize about things that never come to be. I had expectations after college—expectations to run off with Jake Larson and start our life together in a little Pennsylvania farm town. I had my happiness mapped out inside my head.
I didn’t expect to run into a strange, alluring man with a beard and dark hair stacked up on top of his head. I didn’t expect to be attracted to someone so—different. He was everything I didn’t know existed. He could make me feel things I’d never felt before. It didn’t seem possible that we could be together. We both had obligations. The world told us no, but we couldn’t stay away from one another, couldn’t deny that we were drawn together. He was so beautiful—so beautiful rugged. I was going to make him mine.

It was only a matter of time until the truth came out.
I never thought it would come to this…
I tried, God knows I tried to stay away from her but
eventually I crossed that line and broke that trust. I could no longer go back
and I sure as fuck didn’t regret a single moment of it. I knew there would be
hell to pay, I knew the wrath I’d be facing but I would willingly take the
burns and scars just to have the love of my best friend's sister.
If there is one person I’d willingly go to hell and back for
it was…

Holy moly! This book! Wow! After reading Complicate Me, I could not wait to read Forbid me.
Lily and Jacob's story is a forbidden romance. He is her brother Lucas' best friend and he has been in her life since the day she was born. Lily has always been the baby sister. Lucas' baby sister. That's all she was supposed to be. Well we know that things never go the way they are supposed to.
Lily has always loved Jacob, and he was it for her...and he gave her up. Or so she believes.
This is a heart wrenching tale, of love that wasn't ever supposed to be. Soul consuming angst and the road to redemption. My heart broke for both Lily and Jacob along their journey. We get dual POV's during the past and present times to see both sides of the story, and at times it was not easy to take.
To Lily, it seems as though every time that Jacob gets close to her he leaves, using the excuse that she is Lucas's baby sister. His best friend, part of the Good Ol' Boys, always choosing them over the love that she knows he has for her. When Jacob finally gets through to her, and finally admits to
himself that he loves her it might be too late.
I absolutely loved Jacob. I loved the way he loved Lily, even though he was a jerk, he always tried to do the right things. He was loyal to his friendship with Lucas, and didn't know how to navigate through that loyalty to a relationship with Lily. I loved Lily as well. Her tenacity and strength through out the book made me want to reach through my kindle and give her a great big squeeze! She went through so much, and even though at times she wanted to disappear inside herself and crumble, she ultimately found the strength to go on.
I can't say enough about this book. It kept me turning the pages, because I needed to know what was going to happen. The way M. Robinson weaved the story back and forth past and present with dual POV, made the reading experience that much more exciting. I needed to know what Jacob was thinking. I needed to know how Lily was feeling. And she did this all seemlessly. This book has made its way into one of my favorites. I suggest all of you read it, and I dare you to not feel the same way I do about Jacob and Lily's story!
Bravo, M. Robinson!
I took a moment when I was fully inside of her, leaning back
to take a good look at her, wanting to remember her just this way, always. Her
long silky brown hair spread all over my sheets, the way her cheeks were
slightly flushed and how the blush crept down to her neck, how her lips were
swollen from my touch and her serene eyes glazed over.
So beautiful.
So fucking beautiful.
So fucking mine.
I placed a soft kiss on the pulse on her neck, loving the
feel of it beating against my lips. Her dark brown eyes watched me adoringly as
I took what I needed. What she gave. I peered up at her and she shyly smiled
while I kissed my way down to her breasts, taking her perfect round nipple into
my mouth, making her moan. I fucking loved it when she moaned.
It made my cock twitch inside her.
“Jacob, come up here. I want to feel all your weight on me.”
I placed my body completely on hers, like I knew she loved,
caging her in with my arms around her head so that my hands could caress her
face. My torso touching her chest and my legs firmly locked beside hers. Every
time I thrust in she could feel the mass of my body movement, inclining her a
little higher each time. I softly kissed her, taking my time with each stroke
of my tongue as it weaved with hers. Savoring the velvety feel of my mouth
claiming hers, thrusting in and out of her tight wet core a few times before I
pulled away needing to look into her eyes again. I loved seeing every emotion I
felt through her gaze. It mirrored every feeling that was displayed inside of
me, to a degree I never quite understood, but I didn’t care because it was
there. It was for me.
