Oh how I
love my fighters! It can totally be just my own mind, but I love how I conjure
up the vivid details of how these men are as I am guided, not so gently
sometimes, by the author’s words as I put specific characteristics to them.
Forget about when one of my favorite authors decides to write a fighter and M. Leighton
is such. I can easily get lost in her words right from the jump, and book 2 of
The Tall, Dark, and Dangerous series, I am in love with the words, but not just
because Rogan is a fighter. I love this book for the entirety of possibility.
Tough Enough
continues the underlying story of the Special Forces unit Rogan belongs too, trying
to find the answers needed as to whom and where the deceptions are lying while simultaneously
telling the tale of Rogan and Katie. Brought together by force but I say fate
has a hand in all this, Katie is movie set makeup artist hiding in a rural
small town where the uber sexy and high profile MMA fighter Rogan is placed for
a few weeks to expand his hand in a career adventure. In a way Rogan is hiding
too. Hiding who he really is and hiding his scars. Deep rooted scars that run
decades deep while his soul recognizes another whom also has scars not healed.
In a modern
day twist of Beauty and the Beast, where it is hard to differentiate just who
the beauty and who the beast is, we are taken on an adventure set in the town
of Enchantment where the real world is miles away. We watch how Rogan and Katie
both grow and both find their own strength individually (at times cohesively).
M. Leighton loves to titillate us and tease us readers giving us a possibility of
that ever- after fairy tale that we all want to see happen. Rogan is so crazy
sexy that you can’t help fall in love with him and OH MY GAWD! Katie! She has
taken the reigns by becoming my favorite heroine. Watch as she overcomes and
finds being powerful suits her better than being broken. So stop reading this
review and start reading Tough Enough now!! I can’t wait for you all to be
swooned and fall into a crafted world that’s smart and funny, tragic and
