“It’s not your job to protect me, Romeo.”
“You’re wrong.” I said, my voice leaving no room for
argument. “It is and I will.”
“You’re my boyfriend. Not my bodyguard.” Her words
were annoyed and I felt something behind them. But before I could question her
she kept going. “He was just being a jerk. I tried to walk away and he stopped
me. If I hadn’t fought against him I probably wouldn’t have a bruise at all.”
I felt my eyes narrow as I spoke dangerously low.
“Are you saying it’s your fault Zach treated you this way?”
Letting her take any responsibility for this was
something I would not allow.
She sighed. “I’m saying your being a drama queen.”
I laughed and raised my eyebrow. “Do I look like a
woman to you?”
A fine pink blush spread across her cheekbones.
“No.”
I took her face in my hands and tilted it up so I
could stare into her eyes. “Listen to me. My reacting to someone putting their
hands on you is not me being dramatic, it’s me loving you.”
“Oh, Romeo,” she sighed my name and my cock
hardened.
I pulled her into my chest and wrapped my arms
around her. “Being an asshole is just part of my charm, baby.” I said matter of
fact, unable to keep the smile out of my voice. “This is just me loving you.”
“You love real good,” she mumbled against my chest,
pushing a little closer.
I palmed the back of her head, holding her tight. It
scared me how much I loved her sometimes. Just like the anger I’d felt just
moments ago scared me. It was raw and intense. It almost bordered on hate.
And all of it. Every single flame of that animosity
was directed at one man.

I just love these two. You can’t get
any more perfect than a surprise love between a #Jock and a #Nerd.
When we were
left hanging in book one of the #HashtagSeries, we caught the
glimpse and feeling that something sinister was in the works and that it was
going to be bad news for Rimmel and Romeo. Well #Hater starts with a
fresh reminder of the promise of that hate coming to the surface. Weaved
throughout the story perfectly and without giving the reader a drawn out plot,
Cambria has given us suspense and at
some points chilling circumstances, that Rimmel has to overcome which puts
Romeo in a crucial position. Romeo’s future hangs over his head and if his head
isn’t in the game, his future goes in a direction he doesn’t want and Alpha U
could lose its notoriety.
I couldn’t
love #Hater
more than I do right now! I was totally excited when I sat down to read because
I just knew that I wasn’t going to be disappointed as a reader and I would be
back in this awesome setting. Cambria has a way of writing that makes you feel
every emotion that she want you to feel and the reader can easily imagine the
scenery and people around. Even Zach, the villain, the despicable poor excuse
of someone sane, even with him you can easily form a connection to; it may be
hate but it’s still as connection. In my opinion, it takes some pretty special
skills as a writer to make their readers embark on the course they set and
Cambria Hebert again has made a touchdown with #Hater. I am super
excited to see what she has to offer us in the future with this series as well
with any other projects she may have
brewing. The #HashtagSeries is one I would definitely recommend to all
readers.
Cambria Hebert is a bestselling novelist of more than twenty books. She went to college for a bachelor’s degree, couldn’t pick a major, and ended up with a degree in cosmetology. So rest assured her characters will always have good hair.
Besides writing, Cambria loves a caramel latte, staying up late, sleeping in, and watching movies. She considers math human torture and has an irrational fear of chickens (yes, chickens). You can often find her running on the treadmill (she’d rather be eating a donut), painting her toenails (because she bites her fingernails), or walking her chorkie (the real boss of the house).
