Sheltered good girl Victoria Raine has always wanted to be a little bad. Tired of living life safely on the sidelines, she summons the courage to forge a new path for herself and applies to the FBI, looking for adventure and something to fulfill her vague longing for something…more. She gets more than she bargained for with her first undercover assignment—posing as the girlfriend of country music’s bad boy, Drake Maddox, a lone wolf with a reputation for having singularly erotic tastes. Hoping to catch a serial killer that’s targeting women close to Drake, Tori’s job is to convince the public, and the killer, that she and the wickedly handsome superstar are an item.
Although their relationship is a sham, there’s nothing fake about the hidden desires the sexy as sin cowboy awakens in Tori. As the killer draws closer, Tori finds herself falling for the one man she can’t have.
**Shameless can be read as a standalone novel**
Each book in the Black Brothers Trilogy focuses on a different brother and his story and can be read independently, although the books interconnect.
If you haven’t
met Brynley Bush and her brooding Black Brothers yet, you are in for a very
sexy surprise! This last book of the BB Trilogy centers on the youngest of the
brothers, Drake Black, AKA Drake Maddox. Country singer and all around heart
throb, being at the top of his career, some very heinous acts of crime begin to
swirl around him and the only way to get to the bottom of the crimes is to have
smart and sexy (even if she doesn’t know it) rookie FBI agent Victoria to pose
as his love interest in hopes to lure the suspect out. Shameless has that fantastic
‘Who Done It’ ride weaved through this story successfully giving the reader a
cat and mouse game right up till the very end.
But that’s not all you get in this book.
Shameless
wouldn’t be a Brynley Bush book unless she unleashed a very sexy, dominate man
into your hands and this baby brother will singe you he’s so hot. When FBI
agent Victoria “Tori” comes to Drake and asks him to help their case in a
different way, Drake is all to obliged to help. Not one to deny the palpable
connection, Drake and Tori set off in an explosive relationship that seems to
bring to the forefront personalities that weren’t yet recognized or encouraged.
And let me say this couple is now one of my favorites!
I have to
give huge thanks to Brynley for gifting me this series in exchange for my
honest review, and I can’t say enough how surprised and so very happy I am to
have read these books. Ms. Bush has uniquely written a trilogy involving a
strong, dominate family of men who in no uncertain terms will bring you to your
knees. Even though you can read all three books each as a stand- alone, I would
recommend starting from book 1 so you can have the full effect of the Black
Brothers as they find their way from struggles and triumphs that they go
through individually and as a family.
Well done
in my opinion. Fearless (Black Brothers Trilogy Book 1)
Fiercely independent and newly single mom Emmaline Hart has spent the last thirteen years putting everyone’s needs before her own. Secretly afraid that her ex-husband’s assertions that she’s too uptight are right, Emma nonetheless keeps her life, and her emotions, firmly under control, fearful of getting hurt again. However, when she meets the dangerously attractive Beckett Black on a job assignment, the way his casual touch sends her pulse racing forces her to acknowledge her growing need to move beyond her fear. When Beckett offers her a job writing the memoir of his father, a renowned cancer researcher, Emma jumps at the career opportunity and the chance to get to know Beckett better.
Emma spends her days with the renowned doctor, who has spent his career studying a plant in the Amazon that has the potential to cure cancer, and her nights with Beckett, who slowly pushes past her fears and breaks down her barriers, introducing her to a passionate and forbidden love that surpasses her wildest fantasies. As the doctor’s story of secrets and cover-ups unravels, so does Emmaline’s view on everything she thought she knew about herself and the power of surrender.
Matchless (Black Brothers Trilogy Book 2)
When her boss asks for her help on a high profile intellectual property case, the last person attorney Mila Kingston expects to walk into her office is the gorgeous stranger she had an unforgettable one night stand with on her birthday. Navy SEAL Griffin Black has been upfront since the beginning that he's not looking for love or commitment, which is just fine with Mila, who's focused on her career and certainly doesn't have time for a charming playboy. However she can't pass up the opportunity to represent Griffin and his brother in a landmark trade secret case involving a plant from the Amazon with the potential to cure cancer and the greedy woman who will stop at nothing to possess the rights to the research.
Although Mila's determined to keep him at arm's length, the more time she spends with Griffin, the harder it is to resist his easy going charm and his promises of forbidden pleasures. Before long, Mila is entangled with Griffin in a battle for the rights to medical research that could change the world of medicine, as well as her heart.
