The rules of Society X are simple . . . break them and you're out.
Rule #1 - No names
It doesn't matter if you want to know, it's forbidden.
Rule #2 - No exchanging numbers
It doesn't matter if you want to call, it's forbidden.
Rule #3 - Everything is to remain strictly anonymous.
It doesn't matter if you want to tell, it's forbidden.
The Dark Room is the only place you can live out your fantasies and no one will ever know it’s you.
For Parker, what started out as a business transaction has turned into an addiction.
For Mia, it's been a chance to discover who she truly is.
“This romantic story will fill your heart. The love that is written on these pages is enough for anyone to just melt. Readers will find the connection between the characters quite surprising and endearing.” - Lina’s Book Reviews“The Dark Room is captivating and enticing and Parker will make anyone want to break the rules!!” - Shh Moms Reading“This book, just wow! Not something you expected. But something you definitely won't put down! I read this book in just hours. I was enraptured from the first page to the very last.” - GT Indie Cafe
Let loose your inhibitions, because being in the Dark Room will have you googling to see if one is near you.
I loved everything about this story. Virtually knowing nothing but the blurb and a seeing a few image teasers floating around social media, I was at a complete surprise when reading that the Dark Room started out going in one direction then ended in another. Either way this book is worth its 5 Society X Stars.
I will admit that I am trying to write a review that will:
1. Justify the captivating, titillating, straight up erotic in conception, story.(I think I may fail but at this point I will say… You want to be in the Dark Room just like I did.)
2. Not spoil it for the next reader. If I say too much then you will not be able to fully appreciate the genus of the collaborating minds that came together to bring us
From the very first page until the very last I was nothing but the Dark Room. I fell head first into each scene and the anticipation of the next. It would be remiss to say that if Heidi McLaughlin and L.P Dover never collaborated on another project we all are sure to be missing out on some great storytelling. The characters and their relationships were fun and memorable. The highs and lows were on point. And the Dark Room? Whew, there is something to be said about no names, no lights, and no talking.
Holy Manolos. I think it’s time for a re-read.
***I was given an advanced readers copy in exchange for my honest experience.**
Heidi is a New York Times and USA Today Bestselling author.
Originally from Portland, Oregon and raised in the Pacific Northwest, she now lives in picturesque Vermont, with her husband and two daughters. Also renting space in their home is an over-hyper Beagle/Jack Russell, Buttercup, and their newest addition of a Highland Westie/Mini Schnauzer, JiLL.
During the day Heidi is behind a desk talking about Land Use. At night, she's writing one of the many stories planned for release or sitting courtside during either daughter's basketball games.
New York Times and USA Today Bestselling author, L.P. Dover, is a southern belle residing in North Carolina along with her husband and two beautiful girls. Before she even began her literary journey she worked in Periodontics enjoying the wonderment of dental surgeries.
Not only does she love to write, but she loves to play tennis, go on mountain hikes, white water rafting, and you can't forget the passion for singing. Her two number one fans expect a concert each and every night before bedtime and those songs usually consist of Christmas carols.
