Dear Juliet by Trudy Stiles
Book #3 in the Forever Family Series
Release price $.99 for TWO days only

I have been reading this series since Dear Emily was published and oh my goodness I was hooked! This would explain why I was so excited to get my little hands on this book. You definitely need to read books 1 & 2 in this series and know the back story to really understand what is going on with Seth.
Seth’s life looked picture perfect but underneath it all he got to deal with his alcoholic mother and absent father, the only thing keeping him afloat are his friends Juliet and Jeremy. He has been friends with Jeremy for as long as he can remember and met Juliet in the third grade when they became pen pals as an English assignment. Seth was always able to talk to say whatever he wanted through emails and letters with Juliet but was shy when it came to talking face to face at times, especially once he started to have feelings for her. Jeremy never had a problem with being shy so when he asks Juliet out and she accepts, Seth falls into the protector and friend role. Inseparable as they all were, when tragedy strikes Seth doesn’t quite know what to do but he is there for her through thick and thin. I never saw what was coming at the end of the book and well to find out how things turn out you are just going to have to buy yourself a copy!!

I have been a reader of Trudy Stiles since day one and I absolutely love her writing style, you feel every ounce of heartbreak, happiness, and angst. She writes captivating stories which you can’t put down once you start and keeps you wanting more. I will say that I did find myself hugging my box of Kleenex at times but there was no ugly crying while reading this book. Kudos to Trudy for ending this series the way she did and I am giving this book 5 emotional stars and highly recommend it!!

Afraid To Fly

The Fearless Series: Book Two

S.L. Jennings

I’d like to tell you that I’m ok.

That the meaningless sex with countless women has somehow numbed the pain. That it’s deciphered the constant confusion in my head. Eased the self-hatred that sinks into my gut every time I look in the mirror.

I’d like to tell you that time heals all wounds.

That we evolve and grow into well-adjusted, stable adults, set on a path to right the world’s wrongs. That we are not our past…we are not our pain.

I want to tell you all those things. Hell, I want to believe all those things. But I’d be lying. I’m good at that. Living a lie is the only way I truly know how to survive. But the day I saw her, I stopped surviving. I stopped existing. And for the first time in 24 years, I started living.

She brought me back to life. Set me free and sent my soul soaring. Made this useless shell of a man feel like…something. Something whole and real and good.

She saved me. Although she believes I wasn’t even worth saving.

I was already loosening my tie as I stalked toward her and said, “Clothes off, boots on and get on your knees.”

Velvet didn’t waste a second. She slipped out of her one-piece in a swift movement and sank to the floor. The moment I felt her take me into her warm mouth, it was like a thousand pounds had been lifted from my shoulders.

A long time ago, long before I should have, I learned to separate the physical from the emotional and mental. I told myself that just because my young body had been stolen from me and manipulated in ways that would make even the toughest man cry out in agony, I didn’t have to feel it. Not deep down inside. I didn’t have to accept what was being done to me. So I pretended to be somewhere else. I pretended to be someone else. I let my mind drift to thoughts of my parents, imagining what they may have looked like, dreaming about happy smiles and warm hugs and kisses on my cherub-like cheeks. I painted pictures of family vacations at Disney World and barbeques in the backyard. I told myself that we would have a dog named Buddy. Mama would tie bandanas around his neck, and Papa and I would take him for walks and play Frisbee with him at the park.

I had built an imaginary fortress, and in it, nothing could touch me. I was safe. I was happy. And I was loved. That was what I told myself, and that was what I held onto everyday since to survive.

As I grew older, and was no longer held captive by the physical pain, I was left to face the emotional hurt that no one could see. I was like a pariah to the family that had taken me in. We were related but they didn’t know me, and what they did know about me was deviant and disgusting. Too awful to talk about. So I suffered silently in my mind until it became necessary to tell myself lies.

Lies like the ones I was telling myself right now.

I want this. I need this.

I’m totally normal.

There’s nothing wrong with me.

Being a man means having sex with as many women as possible.

These women desire me because they need me. They love me.

They love me.

She loves me.

It was the only way I could keep doing this. The only way the shame and disgust and self-hatred didn’t keep chip-chip-chipping away at the fragments of that broken boy. The boy that had grown up to be a shattered man. The man that couldn’t be mended.

Fear Of Falling

The Fearless Series: Book One

S.L. Jennings

I can’t remember the last time I felt completely safe. Security seemed more like a luxury to me, reserved for those who were fortunate enough to have picture perfect childhoods. For those who didn’t bear the ugly scars that keep me bound in constant, debilitating fear. I’ve run from that fear my entire life. But when I met him, for once, I couldn’t run anymore.

He scared the hell out of me in a way that excited every fiber of my being. It wasn’t the tattoos or the piercings. It wasn’t the warmth that seemed to radiate from his frame and blanket me whenever he was near. It was just…him. The scary beautiful man that threatened to alter 23 years of routine and rituals, and make me face my crippling fear.

My name is Kami and I am constantly afraid. And the thing that scares me the most is the very thing I want.

“Don’t worry,” he smiled, pulling me into the hard warmth of his chest. “I’ve got you. I’ll always catch you when you fall.”

And just like that, Blaine had staked his claim on the untouched part of me that no living soul had ever moved. He had captured every fear, every reservation, and crushed them in the palm of his inked hand.

I never imagined things could get worse, but they do. The men who took us show no mercy. They won’t stop until they’ve destroyed Rafe for something he has no memory of, and I’m their weapon of choice.

What scares me is the madness I see festering inside Rafe. I’ve taken his freedom, his career, his reputation, yet despite all I’ve done, he’s determined to fight for me, kill for me, give everything he is for me.

He’ll even die for me.

My Review

Hmmmmmmnnnn...

I finding it hard to write this review. I am a big fan of this story. However I was not completely engulfed in this book.

This is the next chapter in the Condemned series and we have reached a point where both Rafe and Alex are fighting for their lives. As with both the first two books, there is a high and I mean super high level of intensity and thrill, some terror filled scenes and some scenes where you literally cringe imagining and visualizing it all in your head. Gemma James is a master at getting underneath your skin and pushing the boundaries of your comfort when it comes to her story telling. She creates this dark and disturbing situation in which these characters find themselves in and out of it she births a sense of strength, resilience, undeniable love and devotion. Rafe and Alex will do anything for each other, anything to protect the life of the other no matter how vile. Despite how broken these characters are, how dark and painful some of their innermost thoughts appear there is a love that is indescribable between them, a bond that can never be undone. This is what is phenomenal about this story and this next chapter.

My only problem, was that there was so much going on outside these two characters, maybe too much. Gemma drops a lot of revelations in this book, so much so it equates to dropping an atomic bomb on the storyline. I thought it might have been too much, maybe too complicated. There are even some situations that I found to be unnecessary as they did nothing to add to the storyline except to cause a shock to the reader's system. I also found some scenes a bit repetitive.

All in all this is still a great next chapter in this story and I am looking forward to seeing what kind of finale Gemma is going to give us in the last book. I have a feeling its going to be quite explosive both emotionally and physically

About The Author:

Elena M. Reyes was born and raised in Miami Florida. She is the epitome of a Floridian and if she could live in her beloved flip-flops, she would.
