I wish I could tell you that I was stolen.Kidnapped off the street in some third-world country, sold against my will, while a desperate family back home waited and prayed and talked about me on the news.I wish I could tell you that, because then you might understand. What really happened? I walked to my fate with my eyes wide open. But before you say I deserved whatever happened to me, you should know. I was desperate. I was alone. I was afraid for my life. You would have done the same thing.I thought things couldn’t possibly get any worse. But then, I woke up in darkness, unable to move. There was only one thing I was sure of: I wasn’t alone anymore. And then I heard HIS voice...

You want to read about dark? Read Mara Black and Pieces of Autumn. I honestly can say that this story has completely blindsided and dug its clever claws into me! Pieces of Autumn was not what I expected, and thank Viper for that!
“Love was vulnerability. Love was opening
yourself up, ripping yourself open, revealing everything you always wanted to
hide.’ No. This was insane. This was Stockholm syndrome,
not love. I had to stop.” ~ Autumn via MB
Those lines by Mara Black, sums up how this story goes. Somewhere in the deep recesses of the mind, a place where you know it’s bad to relate to the characters of Autumn and Tate, but you can’t help it. And what’s worse is that you want to feel their connection. You’ll crave it. You’ll stay up all night long just waiting, wondering what’s going to happen next. What secret will be revealed? Will it break your heart? Can it leave you breathless and wanting? YES.IT.DOES.
Pieces of Autumn, is a smart story, in a setting of a dystopian society as a backdrop to the world of finding your strength and humanity, as well as demolishing all the walls and venom one builds to keep them safe from feeling any emotions. Only Tate and Autumn never counted on the outcome of their actions.
*I do have to say that in the first parts of the story, it does seem a bit confusing but stick with it everything will come into its place.*
“I
worshipped her, idealized her, while at the same time I wanted to beat her with
a belt until she cried. A beautiful f**ked – up paradox.” ~ Tate via MB
Mara
Black is a connoisseur of love that lurks in the shadows .
