A small gasp fell from my lips as his
fingers kissed the paper-thin skin. His eyes held me hostage. The golden brown
was now a swirling bronze, raging with the same demanding hunger I knew
reflected in mine.
“This sort of reminds me of the forest,”
I whispered. “The trees around us—no one else.” My words fell like petals,
waiting for Jethro to crush them beneath his glossy shoe.
But…he didn’t.
Tracing one hand from my wrist, along the
inside of my arm, and right to my throat, he fisted my ponytail. With intensity
that stripped my soul to the very essence of who I was, he pulled my head back
slowly, sensually, full of sexual power.

MY REVIEW
First Debt immediately starts where Debt Inheritance leaves
us, so make sure you pick up and read Debt Inheritance FIRST. The exact spot where Nila chooses to
run. I have waited with baited breath
for the continuation of this story and Pepper Winters does NOT disappoint. Her writing is insanely intense, from the
plot to the characters, and most of the time you are left thinking, “WTF, did I
just read? Did that really just happen?
Yup, it did!” This book was so extremely
well written, when I got to the last page, I thought to myself, surely this isn’t
over already. Bravo, Pepper
Winters! This book was amazing.
There are so many of our questions that get answered in
First Debt, but of course, with answers comes more questions. I can’t wait!
We get to see more Jethro, because First Debt is told in dual POV. We get to see what is under his icy
exterior. Nila is growing stronger, and
stronger, the more pressure she is put under the more she shines.
This was a fantastic book, and I can’t wait for the next
one. It can’t come soon enough. If you haven’t read Debt Inheritance, go pick
that up first, and then dive into this one.
If you like suspenseful, dark twisty reads, then you will love Pepper
winters. I promise.
