He is sexy, intelligent, successful, compassionate, loving and a master in bed but he is also wounded, manipulative, bitter, immature and an absolutely jerk at times. No matter how amazing or how arrogant he is, no matter how much sex appeal he has there is still a part of Dixon Mathews that is vulnerable, broken and its in that duality that we love him. We love him because his character is real. His emotions are real and his actions are plausible even though sometimes abhorrent. Dixon is a man in all his notorious delicious wonder. He is a man we want to see be bad because its intoxicating but we also want to see him be good because its admirable.
Monica James is a master storyteller. Her characters are complex and ingenious. She sucks you in from page one; weaving tales that take you on an emotional rollercoaster and this book is no different. Monica will make you want to cry, cringe, laugh, drop your panties, and punch someone in the face perhaps all in one chapter. But its a crazy ride that you won't want to step off of.
