I pull my Kindle out of my bag and try to become invested in a second-chance romance about a rock star, but it's nearly impossible sitting next to him. Each time I become engrossed in the words, he moves and my senses are assaulted by his proximity. The third time this happens, I search the ebook for 'cock' and start reading a sex scene. Dragging in a lungful of air, I remember Presley's pep talk and decide I have nothing to lose.

First things first. Wow! I am so impressed with the words I just read. To read a book early is a privilege I hold high, but when an author has a previous release and basically knocks it out into the universe, I get a little nervous reading the next release from that same author. I have an expectation, a certain standard for the content. Well in reference to Wherever It Leads, not only does it forge its own path, but critically speaking, is Adriana Locke’s best work in my opinion. Forget about book boyfriend or sexy heroine for a minute, the way the story is written and ultimately perceived is smart, showcasing the growth in her skill and presentation of a writer.
Now let’s get back to book boyfriend. Oh My LANTA does Fenton get it. At first I thought he was going to be that cocky, hot stuff businessman that usually gets what he wants, with whom he wants. Not only did I get that but I also got someone that kept me smiling. There was a depth that I wasn’t expecting. A fierceness that was buried and brought to life in ways that weren’t thinkable to him. Fenton made me hot then he made me swoon.
Yes I know, in today’s society we are always typing swoon when talking about book boyfriends but this guy made me swoon like his words were being said to me and not Brynne. Oh that’s right you didn’t meet Brynne yet. Well let me tell you a thing or two about her. She’s hot! She’s timid, but also sure of who she is and makes no apologies for it. Brynne has had a rough patch, is still having a tough time, but she is trying to live her life with positivity and what she needs is a little “visual intercourse” and she gets it in full with Fenton.
Wherever It Leads brings all of my favorite elements in a story perfectly. It’s funny, it’s sexy, it’s down and dirty, which let me say here that Adriana has come out with the big dogs with the sexy, Holy Manolos was I close to combustion the entire time I was reading. Going back to my favorite things, I got secrets weaved into the story too. The kind of secrets that can do irreparable damage. And let’s not forget the best friend that always has the best of heart even if half the words out of her mouth make you spit your drink out (and yes it happened) [Symbol] There are one liners throughout this book that are sure to be stuck with you forever.
At the end of the story I was both happy and sad. I’m sure anyone reading this can speculate why, but its due to me wanting more of these two. I just finished and I already miss them. I miss Presley, the best friend, she was obnoxious and I loved her for it. Brava Adriana Locke, you made it nearly impossible to think of anyone else in the fictional land. I truly did get bent with Fent.
